Are you or your child struggling with gender dysphoria? Do you feel that the only offered option for treatment is gender affirming medical care? Are you looking for an alternative, holistic approach? Are you looking for exploration and support with detransitioning? Are you facing isolation and excommunication from a community that used to embrace you? Are you fearful of talking to your family and friends about transitioning? Or detransitioning after they were supportive of your social and/or medical transition?
I offer an open and exploratory approach to see if transitioning or de-transitioning is right for you/your child. I do this through traditional CBT, CPT, research exploration, psycho-education, and holistic approaches to addressing gender dysphoria. What I offer is a supportive environment to openly and thoroughly explore your options, challenge any identified cognitive distortions or beliefs about gender and transitioning/de-transitioning, distress tolerance skills, exploring how family and societal messaging may be affecting beliefs about gender and transitioning/de-transitioning, exploring long and short term benefits and consequences of medical intervention, exploring peer reviewed research on gender dysphoria, and providing psycho-education about the correlation of emerging gender dysphoria in pubescent aged people (especially those observed female at birth) and people diagnosed with autism.
I am not here to convince you to or not to transition/de-transition. I am here to help you make an informed decision about their health and treatment and learn to love who you are vs. who you are “supposed to be”, so you don’t rush into anything that may not be reversible.
