It can be hard to find a therapist to help with issues related to gender identity who will not approach you with foregone conclusions and political or ideological agendas. Our hope is to make it easier for you to find a therapist who will meet you or your child with openness and curiosity, providing a safe place for self-exploration while attending to legitimate mental health concerns.
If you are looking for “conversion therapy” to stop you or your child from being trans, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming, this is not the place for you.
If you are looking for “instant affirmation therapy” that will put you or your loved one on the fast track to medical transition, this is not the place for you.
If you are looking for therapy—a place for you or your loved one to develop in self-understanding, to receive compassionate care and listening, and to explore issues related to gender identity—along with any other issues that may come up—then you have come to the right place.
Before submitting a request, you should read our ABOUT page. You may also want to read our GETA MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT to give you a clear understanding of what GETA therapists have agreed to. If you would like to be contacted by a GETA therapist, go ahead and fill out this form.
Disclaimers:
- Our goal in providing referrals is to help prospective clients connect with therapists who agree with the tenets of the GETA MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT. We do not fully “vet” these therapists, and it is your responsibility to do your due diligence—as you would in any search for a therapist—once you receive a referral. As such, filling out this form and being contacted by a GETA therapist does not obligate you in any way to begin or continue therapy with that therapist.
- Regarding confidentiality: Any information you submit will be kept confidential in compliance with HIPAA and GDPR guidelines.
